Hybrid Movie-Music Review

I just saw "Juno." Excellent. It took a few minutes for it to get going, but then I loved it. In high school, I had a "car phone": a hard-to-handle white phone in the shape of a Porsche. The Hamburger Phone in the movie brought it all back for me.

But my favorite moment was when Jason Bateman's character explained to Juno that Sonic Youth's version of The Carpenters' "Superstar" is out-of-this-world incredible. Agreed. I am not a Sonic Youth fan, but they completely nailed that song. I think the last time I had heard it was about a decade ago, seeing the music video on "The Box," the long-defunct dial-up music video channel.
