Alma Mater Watch: Injuries of All Kinds

Well, there's not much to say. An unstoppable offense, stopped by a deflating knee injury, turns the team into a bunch of guys who try too hard to make plays and end up turning the ball over. As was the case last year, Oregon was tantalizingly close, if only they hadn't committed this turnover or tried too hard on that play. Sad, deflating, and depressing, but somehow I think Oregon will beat UCLA a couple of days after Thanksgiving. After all, the defense played well. Fourteen of Arizona's points came from a kick return and an interception return, and another interception set up Arizona's first touchdown. Arizona scored three points in the second half. With two extra days to prepare, the team will be ready. Chip Kelly and Mike Bellotti will figure it out. So the Ducks still have a shot at the Rose Bowl.

I know everyone has been injured, but can someone please tell me why these receivers cannot catch the football? Geez. Jones lets a touchdown bounce off of him and turn into an interception -- can't we give official scorers discretion to say the QB does not get charged for an INT in that situation, while still giving the defender credit? -- and Williams is so down on himself that he's dropping even more than before. Frustrating.
